Body, Mind & Music: A New Way to Stay Active, Engaged, and Connected (55+)

Adults 55+ participating in a music and movement class for seniors, engaging in rhythm and group activities in a welcoming studio setting

As we move through different seasons of life, the way we care for ourselves begins to shift.

Staying active is still important. Keeping the mind sharp still matters. But just as meaningful is finding joy, connection, and a sense of community along the way.

That is exactly what inspired our Body, Mind & Music program.

Designed for adults 55+, this weekly class brings together gentle movement, music, and social connection in a way that feels uplifting, engaging, and accessible for all experience levels.

More Than Just a Class

This is not about performance or pressure.

It is about showing up, trying something new, and enjoying the experience.

Each 45-minute session is thoughtfully designed to support both physical and mental well-being, while creating space to connect with others in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

Classes are offered in 4 week sessions, making it easy to try and build a routine that feels good.

Supporting the Body Through Movement

Movement plays an important role in maintaining balance, coordination, and overall mobility as we age.

Through body percussion and light rhythmic movement, participants gently engage their bodies while staying connected to the music. These activities help support coordination, timing, and body awareness in a way that feels natural and enjoyable.

Keeping the Mind Active and Engaged

Learning does not stop at any age. In fact, it is one of the most powerful ways to support cognitive health.

Throughout the program, participants are introduced to:

  • Music history and appreciation, exploring different genres, styles, and composers

  • Introductory music theory, building a simple understanding of how music works

  • Active listening, which encourages focus, attention, and mental engagement

These elements help keep the mind sharp while making learning feel approachable and fun.

Connection and Community

One of the most meaningful parts of this program is the opportunity to connect.

Each class is led by caring instructors who foster a supportive, welcoming environment where participants can feel comfortable and included. Whether you come with a friend or meet new people along the way, the social aspect of the class often becomes just as valuable as the music itself.

A Gentle, Joyful Way to Enrich Your Week

There is no prior musical experience needed.

Just a willingness to try something new.

Whether you are looking to stay active, keep your mind engaged, or simply enjoy music in a new way, Body, Mind & Music offers a space to do just that, at your own pace, in a supportive community.
