Junior Musicians Class
A fun and engaging group music class for children ages 4-5
In the Junior Musicians program, The Piano Studio’s highly trained teachers introduce our youngest students to the joy of music using wonderful resources and materials. Our Junior Musicians program is based on the “Music For Little Mozarts” curriculum, published by Alfred Music; students will join characters Mozart Mouse and Beethoven Bear as they explore the world of music.
About the program
The program is designed for 4 and 5 year-olds who are in JK or SK. It is a weekly, 45-min group class. The program consists of two sessions, after which time students are ready for private lessons. Level 1 is 18 weeks and Level 2 is 20 weeks.
Each 45-minute lesson will include activities such as:
- Singing
- Fun with rhythm instruments
- Movement & dancing
- Time spent at the keyboard (one in the class for each child)
Students will be introduced to basic musical elements such as:
- Rhythm notation
- Dynamics
- Keyboard geography
- Introduction of the staff
The course consists of two levels. We also offer a shortened Summer Session.
Level 1 Schedule for September, 2024
- Thursdays 5:30pm in Newmarket, Sept 12 to Jan 30 (FULL)
- Saturdays 1:00pm in Newmarket, Sept 21 to Feb 1
- 18 weeks (no class Oct 31, Dec 26/28, Jan 2/4)
- $480 Including Books
Level 2 Schedule for February, 2025
- Thursdays 5:30pm in Newmarket, Feb 6 to Jun 26
- 20 weeks (no class Mar 13/15)
- $530 Including Books
- Note that students must first complete Level 1 before enrolling in Level 2
