Summer Group Music Programs at The Piano Studio

Fun, structured, and results-driven group classes for children in Newmarket and Aurora this summer.

Make This Summer Musical

Summer is the perfect time for young musicians to explore, grow, and have fun. At The Piano Studio, we’re offering two exciting group music classes designed to inspire creativity, build foundational skills, and bring children together through the joy of music.

Whether your child is already taking private piano lessons or you’re looking for a welcoming introduction to music, our summer group programs are a wonderful opportunity to keep learning alive during the school break and build skills that carry forward into September and beyond.

Our group classes run through July and August at our Newmarket and Aurora locations. Spaces are limited, so we encourage families to register early.

Note Reading & Rhythm Class

Does your child sometimes struggle to read notes confidently or find it difficult to keep a steady rhythm? This class was designed with exactly that in mind.

Our Note Reading & Rhythm Class is a structured, game-based program that helps students understand how music is built from the ground up. Through engaging activities, interactive games, and hands-on exercises, students strengthen their note-reading skills and develop a deeper sense of rhythm and timing.

By the end of the session, students won’t just know more — they’ll be able to apply that knowledge creatively by composing their own short musical melodies. It’s a confidence-boosting, skill-building experience students will love.

Note reading and rhythm are the building blocks of all music. Students who strengthen these skills often find that everything else in their lessons becomes easier, from learning new pieces to playing with more confidence and expression.

Junior Musicians Summer Session

Is your 4 or 5-year-old curious about music? Do they love singing, dancing, or exploring the piano keys? Our Junior Musicians Summer Session was made for them.

This fun, gentle, and engaging class introduces young children to the world of music and piano in a way that feels like play. Through age-appropriate activities, songs, and games, children begin to develop an ear for music, an understanding of rhythm, and a love of learning that will prepare them beautifully for private piano lessons in September.

All books are included in the registration fee, so all your child needs to bring is their curiosity and enthusiasm.

Why Group Music Classes?

Group music classes offer something that private lessons can’t fully replicate: the energy and motivation of learning alongside other children.

Children naturally encourage one another, celebrate each other’s progress, and discover that music is even more enjoyable when it’s shared. Our classes are intentionally small, ensuring every student receives individual attention while benefiting from a supportive group environment.

Our teachers work hard to create a space where trying, stumbling, and improving are all part of the learning process.

Reserve Your Child’s Spot This Summer

Spaces in our summer group classes fill quickly, and once they’re full, they’re full.

If you’d like your child to spend the summer building real musical skills in a fun and supportive setting, we’d love to welcome them.
